Sankofa Cancer Program
The Sankofa Cancer Program was designed and developed by
SCDC and subsequently underwritten in partnership with the
Robert Woods Foundation in response to the alarming reports
of cancer within our area. With this in mind, SCDC has implemented
the "Faith In Action"
program, which incorporates faith-based organizations of many
denominations to service those dealing with the effects of
cancer.
The Sankofa Cancer Program was developed to identify and
provide volunteer "home-based" care giving to include
in-home visitation, telephone reassurance, transportation,
light housekeeping chores, home repairs, shopping, light errands
and companionship.
