FIRST ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT -
A PERFECT GAME 

BALTIMORE, MD- With temperatures in the high eighties and plenty of sunshine over fifty golfers participated in Sankofa CDC’s first golf tournament fundraiser.   The tournament was held at the Forest Park Golf Course and was deemed by the event coordinators Donald Debnam and Rosalind Ambrose “ an overwhelming success”.  

Golfers from all over Baltimore City, Maryland and surrounding county’s participated in the event.  Volunteers included members for The New Psalmist Baptist Church, Bank of America, Unlimited Systems Support, Incorporated (USSI) and Girl Scout Senior Cadet Troop # 1862 (Community 11- Baltimore City). 

All in attendance at the event enjoyed a surprise visit from Rev. Dr. Walter S. Thomas, Sr. and the bull roast luncheon afterwhich the much awaited award ceremony took place.  Winners of the tournament were First Place: Rev. Therm James, Mr. Kevin Barrett, Mr. Keith Henderson and Mr. Tito Goodrum. Second Place: Mr. Lester John, Mr. Herbert Peyton, Mr. Bruce Russell and Mr. Tom Ahearn. Third Place: Mr. Damon Hughes, Mrs. Tasha Hughes, Mr. Richard Greene and Mr. Darryn Smith.

Major sponsors of the event were Chesapeake Bank of Maryland, Bank of America, USSI, We Teach and Tutor, MECU, Perfect Gentlemen II, Morningstar Baptist Church of Catonsville, TMG (The Match Group) and Harbor Bank.   

Proceeds from the tournament will go towards defraying CDC expenses as well as supporting current and upcoming programs and projects that benefit the Greater Edmondson Village communities.
